What a success! ARGHHHHH

To say that our Pirate Carnival was a success is an understatement. Even writing about it makes me tear up all over again. So many people. Oh so many people donated, sponsored and attended.

Here is a walk through of the event:

Outside there was a great banner, donated by a company my brother in law works with. And Cupbop and an ice cream truck were in the parking lot.

As you entered we had pirate balloons, donated by Tony Hansen, and Tee-shirts for sale donated by Jake & Mandy Singleton and Blue dot ink in Layton.

The boys ran the front desk, selling game tokens, tee-shirts, bandannas and raffle tickets. They went through tokens so fast they had to make rounds to all the games to collect tokens to resell. We started with 1000 tokens! Crazy.

Then Grandma Russell had a table where you could write messages to Nikki and put them in the bottle. After that the walls were lined with booths as well as a circle of them in the middle.

Gavin & Nicole brought giant pirate set pieces and a whole sound system with an amazing pirate play list and a microphone that saved us during the raffle prizes.

Nikki's family put together an amazing silent auction with phenomenal items from some wonderful sponsors. They put so much work into collecting some wonderful things, and Nikki's dad took photos of the event.

Ariel ran the bake sale which was toppling with amazing goodies from all over including items from Sweet Tooth Fairy, Cake Me Now, and Food of the Gods Chocolatier. I really wish I had made it to that table more often!

I know there are more than this because some of the auction items I don't have names for, but thank you. Thank you! And that doesn't even begin to cover those of you that donated directly, or came and played game after game and ate so much food and kept going back for more game tokens all night! We had a blast and we are glad that you did as well!

With your help we raised close to $5000. What a wonderful world we live in.

And as of yesterday, Nikki is officially cancer free!! She is amazing. Awe-inspiring to me. She is proof that we can get through anything. And you are all proof that we are not alone when rough times hit.

Seriously, thank you.
