What a journey!
I tell you what.
Two years ago Jon and I created a game.
Here is how we started.
Since then we have sold quite a few copies, and it was thrilling. We continued to play test the game every monday (we still do) and a "chapter" in Cedar City even started up that plays! (Rev & Nate are great!)
We became members of the Board Game Designers Guild of Utah. (Can't say I saw that coming... but I love it SO MUCH!)
The Board Game Designers Guild (BGDG) are one fantastic group of people. (I would say "guys" but there are a handful of lady dudes there and they are cool as well.) Every second and fourth Tuesday we get together and play test games that we have created, in all steps of the process. We get specific feedback and have a lot of fun! I have never laughed so hard learning new games as I do with the BGDG. We brought Witness to them a few times and received fantastic feedback from the game play to art work and marketing. They have been such a huge support system! If you have ideas for a board or card game you should join this group.
Witness went through many more changes, mostly with layout on cards and the fleshing out of characters. The next big changes we decided to make was new graphics and more durable cards. With the changes we decided we wanted to make to the game we discovered that in order to print on thicker cards we had to print a higher minimum... so we needed money.
Kickstarter was where we decided to go. If you have never heard of Kickstarter, it is a funding platform for creative projects.
So we put together our campaign and Lucas Millhouse put together a brilliant video for us. For real, if you need video for anything he is your man! Plus he is a long time best friend and is phenomenal.
Nick Malara has been doing our new graphics and we have loved what he has been doing. We found him on deviant art and have loved working with him.
So, that is where we are. And we are excited to be here.
So here it is... take a look at the finished campaign!
We have already seen such a great amount of support and I am very thankful for your support. Even if you aren't able to donate, if you wouldn't mind sharing this game with your friends and family I would be ever so thankful!
Leave a comment too. The more traffic it gets the better chance others will stumble upon it and get swept in by my dashing smile... or the game... whatever.
Also, we totally got a shout out from 3D Total Games. Check it out!
