This is going to take alot of explanation. So hold on, don't freak out. But yes I shall begin by stating that I am not wearing pants in this photo. None of us are.
Improv Everywhere is a world wide group that has chapters all over the world and they create situations where 'actors' make up musicals in malls, or freeze for five minutes in public places etc. The group was created to create chaos and joy in public places through these practical jokes. So as silly, and i'll be it slightly inappropriate it was a huge laugh. To understand more you can go to improveverywhere.com
Anyways yesterday was PANTS OFF day. And the chapters in NYC and SLC took their pants off on subway/trax. Hundreds upon hundreds of people showed up in NYC, as well cities all over the nation as well as internationally in canada and australia too, and though we didn't gather as many people for our SLC version we did get quite the collection of participators. My friends Richie T, Rob and I decided to do it!
So we met just after 3 pm, so as to miss the media, and got on trax immediately dropping our pants. We took them off and put them in our bags. Then we rode trax back and forth downtown till 5 pm. The reactions were amazing. I have never seen people laugh so hard, or look so completely confused. There were so many without pants that some that were not participating dropped their pants in fear that it was necessary to ride trax. wow. Our responses were the following in answer to their questions about what the heck we were doing:
1. We were going to a party, but weren't sure what everyone else was doing as we weren't with any of them.
2. We gave them away.
3. My skirt got wet, so I took it off.
4. This is normal for SLC, you must be from out of town.
5. What? we forgot our pants?! Not again. How embarassing.
I must say that no one wore anything to extreme or revealing. Well more revealing than necessary. I mean we were NOT wearing pants. I must also claim that I did wear patterned tights. I have to admit that I was completely aware that my thighs are not something that everyone needed to be introduced to so abruptly. But the pink panties were still bright as ever and obvious.
It was a success, and I hope to participate in Improv Everywhere again and soon. However this time, WITH pants. For sure.
