dad

This is why I love my father. Look at him in this photo, look at him in the middle of all of us crazy people! Don't let it fool you one bit. He walks only slightly behind us so that he can dance and sing louder than the rest of us and yet he has the ability to appear sain to the rest of the world. The rest of us can't even pretend. One day James made a comment to me about how amazing my parents were. I questioned him as to why (cause I already knew) and he said that I always tell him things that my parents used to have us do when we were young and that he would like to do them to his children. I used to think its cause we were poor, and maybe that is true, but probably its just because my parents were plain GENIUS! Here are some examples:
1. Lanae and I wanted money to go to Yogurt Beach one summer. My Father said that if we could tell him how Aspirin worked he'd give us a 2 litter bottle of shasta. (pineapple orange) So Lanae and I spent ALL day researching, and got the bottle. He saved well over $2 and we haven't ever forgotten how it works.
2."Look it up" was always my fathers response to a question. Now I don't ask questions, I just look things up. This technique has proved to be quite the job saver, and improved my education. When I hear people ask questions that could be easily found online, in a book, or from paying attention I think its silly.
3. My father joined the LDS church when he was a young adult. I have loved his search for an understanding of God and his path in life, and felt that he encouraged us to find our own answers as we grew up. I never once felt pressured into religion as a tradition as many of my friends have.
4. His genes. We all have my fathers genes. Complete with favorite color gene: green, and favorite movie gene: rocky. They are through and through genes inherited and loved from my father.
I love my father immensely.
