This is how I do it.

Sometimes I feel like this. I am, of course, referring the photo of The Italian Stallion here. If you know me, you know I am ultimately inspired by Rocky Balboa and by Sylvester Stallone on the whole. It is silly. I know. It is a family thing as well. Ask any of us what our favorite movie is... Rocky. Sing us the theme "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor and watch us do more and do it better than anyone else. It breathes strength into us. Years ago I printed out a quote from Rocky Balboa and it has been referred to as our family creed since then. I wouldn't change a thing. Rocky has always been our dad cause it was his persistence that made this movie our family movie. Even when we made our mother the family cage fighter as a joke, it was always a symbol of ultimate respect because of our connection to these films (yeah, I called them films). He is how we get going when hard times hit.
So... (yes... one of a slew of blogs about how I am single again)... when I started to get comments on my newly single status on facebook with feelings of sorrow and anxiety of my impending life I immediately deleted them and then posted the following...

To my disappointment... nobody sent cash... but they did post quotes. And I have continued to be texted random quotes by Sylvester Stallone or in any of the Rocky movies. Each times I read one I feel like I can do anything. As frustrating and painful as any change in life brings these quotes raise me up. Even as silly and random as some of them are. So... for each of you, in your individual situations... enjoy!

"Rambo? Rambo's a pussy." -Ray Tango (Tango & Cash)

"I believe there is an inner power that makes winners or losers. And the winners are the ones that listen to the truth in their hearts." – SS

"I have great expectations for the future, because the past was highly overrated." – SS

"You're gonna eat Lightnin' and you're gonna crap Thunder!"

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that!" -Rocky Balboa

"I always wanted to be a milkshake." Lincoln Hawk

‎"Am I insane? Completely!" -Sylvester Stallone, Spy Kids 3-D

“Life's not about how hard of a hit you can give... it's about how many you can take, and still keep moving forward.” ― Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa

‎"95% of the time, women are right. They can be emotional, but when they say your shoes are shit or your tie is wrong, they're often right." - Sylvester Stallone

"I think we make a real sharp couple of coconuts - I'm dumb, you're shy, whaddaya think, huh?"
Rocky Balboa

‎"it aint over til its over..." Rocky Balboa

"Adrien!!!"

"Stay in school and use your brain. Be a doctor, be a lawyer, carry a leather briefcase. Forget about sports as a profession. Sports make ya grunt and smell. See, be a thinker, not a stinker." --Apollo Creed

Adrian: Why do you wanna fight?
Rocky: Because I can't sing or dance.

"R u getting strong now? Flying high now?"

Marie "Do you have a reservation?"
Paulie "Do I look like a freakin' Indian" (Rocky Balboa)
not Sly but it was one of my favorites from Rocky =D

Tommy "I want my respect!"
Rocky "...Come and get it." (Rocky V)

Question : How does Rocky get even better then Stallone ?
Answer Survivor : Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance
Now I'm back on my feet
Just a GIRL and Her will to survive

Rocky: "My point is I'm pursuing something and nobody looks too happy about it."
Boxing Commissioner:" But... we're just looking out for your interests."
Rocky: "I appreciate that, but maybe you're looking out for your interests just a little bit more. I mean you shouldn't be asking people to come down here and pay the freight on something they paid, it still ain't good enough, I mean you think that's right? I mean maybe you're doing your job but why you gotta stop me from doing mine? Cause if you're willing to go through all the battling you got to go through to get where you want to get, who's got the right to stop you? I mean maybe some of you guys got something you never finished, something you really want to do, something you never said to someone, something... and you're told no, even after you paid your dues? Who's got the right to tell you that, who? Nobody! It's your right to listen to your gut, it ain't nobody's right to say no after you earned the right to be where you want to be and do what you want to do!..."
