31
Today I turn 31.
I experienced my share of mental and emotional break downs repeatedly this week which is why I may have seemed to go MIA for the majority of the week, but in all actuality I am feeling very excited about the whole thing. The age. Where I am at. What I am doing. etc. etc. etc. But amidst my breakdown I had some good "come to Jesus" time with myself and in my pondering I put together a list of 31 life lessons I have learned. Here is what I came up with.
1. It is okay to make mistakes.
2. Don't hold back. Commit fully is how we say it in Improv terms. Go all in, always.
3. You create your own reality. We have the power to break mental patterns that no longer serve us, and we have the power to consciously choose thoughts that empower us. It’s only a matter of breaking old habits and creating new ones.
4. Lean into your fear. Don't let things that scare you stop you from doing what you want to do.
5. A few moments of silence each day will broaden your horizon, strengthen your self-awareness, and heighten your inner clarity. With clarity, you can do anything.
6. Money is a renewable resource. If you lose some money, don’t sweat it. You can always make more. However, if you spend valuable time stressing over money, or lost opportunity, you’ll never get that time back. Time is more valuable than money.
7. Dream. Even if it seems like an impossible dream.
8. We really don’t need very much (stuff) to be happy.
9. Loving yourself is the most important thing.
10. Give people a chance. Believe in them. They will surprise you more times than you expect.
11.Complaining, criticizing and gossiping is a waste of time and saps your energy.
12. Being a victim of your life is easier than being the leader of your life. But not as fun or rewarding.
13. Forgive. Yourself and others.
14. Breathe.
15. God is real and when you speak he listens.
16. Nothing will make you feel more alive than creating something.
17. Saying NO is okay.
18. Love. Hard.
19. People can change. But don't make that your job.
20. You are not alone.
21. Your body knows what you need. Listen to it.
22. Drink lots of water
23. When you want something and you ask for it, you will more likely get it.
24. People are talking about you half as much as you think. We are all more worried about ourselves.
25. Laughter will save your life and your relationships.
26. Life isn't fair. Your parents were right. Just accept and embrace it.
27. Time really does heal wounds.
28. Always take more photos.
29. Being thankful will help you be more open and easier to work with.
30. Anything great will require work. hard work.
31. If you don't just do it, you will never know.
