Adventuring transparencies

**warning. the gag factor of this blog post may be unreasonably high**

I may only blog about the little adventures we go on. Nothing like the inspiring Dani! However, don't get me wrong, we sit around and watch our favorite television shows... like Dual Survivor, Agents of Shield, The Flash, Arrow (the ONLY thing I find enjoyable about this one is Ray Palmer), Chopped, and for reals like a dozen more.

But I turn this blog into a book at the end of each year for our posterity... these posts may make our lives seem more exciting than they are. Really do you ever look back and remember the day to day business-- not really. So I hope to remember all our little adventures this year.

So for the sake of transparency, my favorite parts of the day are when we sit down after dinner on the couch and enjoy this quiet time together. Here is how that plays out...

I should be super romantic and tell you how we sit wrapped up in each others arms on one couch... and sometimes we truly do... but more often than not we sit on our own couches playing games on our phone while we watch our shows. Oh, and I talk at Ben through it all. Sometimes he pauses the show to listen to me, sometimes we let it run. Sometimes we run to each others' couch to share the hysterical thing we just read on the internet. Sometimes I read while he watches. Sometimes he gets up just to kiss me. Sometimes he takes me outside and we watch the sunset and I tell the pigeons to get off our balcony.

"Melissa, they can't understand you when you just tell them to go away."

And then he laughs at me. For talking to the birds and critiquing horrible commercials. For jumping during all the scary parts of Survivor shows and correcting recipes on the Food Network.

And I laugh at him. For laughing at me. For making up dumb jokes. For dancing during commercial music, and for correcting recipes on the Food Network.

We laugh a LOT.

This is my favorite part of life. The in-between adventures. The time where I turn to find him staring at me (what a creeper) and he tells me how beautiful I am and we both just smile. It is truly disgusting. It is my favorite thing. The moments of nothing full of everything and oozing with pure happiness.

like i said, disgusting.
